Building Department Permit Applications & Records
Watford City requires building permit applications to make sure new construction meets our city's standards for safety, quality, and appearance. This process helps protect you and your neighbors by ensuring buildings are built correctly and won't cause problems like structural issues or fire hazards. It also helps maintain our community's overall look and feel. By reviewing building plans and inspecting construction, the city can make sure everything is done right from the start.
All Permit Applications have been updated for 2024. Only the current version of applications will be accepted.
Submittal requirements for each permit type are detailed within the corresponding application. Fillable forms of the Permit Applications can be found in the links below. Please do NOT submit payment until applications have been reviewed by City staff. Most permits are valid for a period of six (6) months from the date of issue. Permits may be renewed after expiration for an additional fee. A Permit Renewal Form can be found within the links below.
